August 2011

How’s your eyesight can you read this A c D e F g H if not I suggest you make an appointment to visit the check your eyesight testing exhibition trailer that we are currently supplying a driver for. The golden M roadshow is still on the road promoting his lovely ice cream is a hit with everyone and still selling out all over the UK. The 3d crew are still out and about but have finished with the shopping centres for now and we are now concentrating on assembling the rig overnight at cinemas (popcorn at the ready) We have also undertaken a very nice trip abroad with another stand well not abroad exactly but the Isle of Wight will do. Any BIG news this month? I hear you cry why of course yes. Try UEFA we started to assign our drivers to our client for their uefa contract this will involve 8 of our drivers driving to all the football grounds whose teams  have qualified for the champions league they start off early this month and I guess we won’t see them to Christmas Eve. Many thanks to our client for trusting us with the very big contract I know he will not be disappointed with the crew we send. Good luck lads. All hands on deck just as the guys on question time perhaps sitting in their gardens with a cold beer or two ..The phone rings quick get your bags packed the lovely folk at the BBC want  to do a special question time to discuss the riots some parts of the country have been experiencing. Our ice cream driver still about and about his the flavour of the month with this heat wave we are are experiencing (heat wave)?  Well it’s hot anyway. What’s this with the ice cream this month? Because we have supplied yet another driver to give away even more ice cream this time in an ice cream van for a large mobile telecommunications company is that ice cream ORANGE mate? Our super space cabs are over in Europe this month namely spending most of their time in Germany.

July 2011

Yep Question Time in Birmingham and then Basingstoke and then ? well guess what the boys have a fair old break to enable them to wash, iron their clothes kiss the wife and walk the dog (not necessary in that order) then back on the road in September. Music is the flavour this month very busy with festivals etc and the touring don’t seem to be getting any easier out this month with an ex-beatle (think Thomas the tank) and also something to do with a razor and a light? We have also been undertaking driving an ice cream van for a very well-known fast food outlet think the golden M and you may have it we have been promoting their lovely ice cream deserts at various festivals as you can imagine it has gone down a storm and the all sold out sign has  gone up very very early. The BIG news this month is the start of a huge task for us here at events 2 go logistics we have placed a large number of trucks and 42 drivers to our clients for a large European tour. It’s been a very hectic time in this office I can tell you with a very large candle burning at both ends. From Scotland, Birmingham, Manchester Copenhagen via Wembley and the Milan. I think it’s probably the biggest assignment this company has ever undertaken but it was so well worth it.. A sell out at every venue whats the band I hear you say. (Well its top secret) but seeing as it’s you who’s asking think “Robbie” and his mates.  No prize’s for that one.so take that. We have also been supplying a driver to our client who is promoting a new large technology store with a double decker bus…looks the part it does. We have photos in the office if you fancy a look.

The Big Question is at last coming to the end of this current series but we have to do one quick show in Glasgow before the drivers and crew can finally get home for a well-earned rest. Our drivers undertaking his 14 week stint is still covering Northern Ireland and by all accounts he can certainly vouch for a pint or two of the black stuff. Our driver is well on his way to Saudi Arabia after some issues at the border we had to load the whole exhibition rig onto a low loader to move into Saudi and because of the rules of the kingdom we had to get the whole rig covered up so as not to advertise whilst in transit. After a lot of long nights all was sorted and everyone happy. Our 3d crew still at a shopping centre near you perhaps? Visiting Bristol, Nottingham, Manchester, blue water in Kent. Our super space trucks are in Scotland for most of this month hope the weather holds up from Edinburgh and right up to inverness and a little bit further. Some guys out on a double drive a truly mammoth one this time, Belgium, Italy, Croatia, Ukraine, Poland, Russia, Finland and back to the UK. We have also been laying plans for a rock show music tour currently in its 10th year in central London and now due to tour the UK and Europe the show is amazing do try to catch it when it’s on the road. They will truly (rock you) that’s all I can say? We have also been supplying some of our drivers to our music related clients for a number of tours this month starting off in Hyde Park and finishing of sometime in august in Lyon as they do seem to be the kings of? Another road show which has commenced this week is a 14 week tour of northern Ireland you should see the size of the suitcase our driver took with him I think he needed the artic truck just to carry it. The BIG news this month is us undertaking a very big tour of Saudi Arabia on behalf of one of our clients this will prove to be a major challenge due to the unrest at the moment in the region our driver will be going via turkey and Syria (with tin hat). On behalf of our clients we have been moving a number of medical trailers from location to location and have been assisting in the unit management whilst the vehicles are on site 3 trailers that make up a doctors surgery. ANY OLD IRON or should I say apples and pears? once again we are out and about with the old London market barrow.  It beats me how the guys back in the olden days pushed these things about it takes a forklift to load and unload this beast onto our 7ton. They must have had arms like Popeye? This month saw us purchase a large static 3 bedroom caravan which we have installed onto a local farm it’s all singing and dancing 3 separate bedrooms, kitchen, shower etc. It’s for the guys to use between tours (ain’t some of these guys got a home to go to) mind you this thing is huge so its home away from home I guess..? These productions have been such a success there is talk of this tour being extended. We are also on the road with a large cancer charity with a 40 foot artic visiting various locations. On board is a scanner which can predict cancer at an early stage, which is a good thing.            ---  Phil welcomes back eric "the viking" from his 9 month tour all over Europe.

With the snow there has been a lot of venue switching at very last minute just to find somewhere an event can take place. we think its going to be a very busy January 2010 trying to fit all the fixtures which didnt take place. We have also undertaken a lot of exhibition and show work for a number of racing teams with the annoucement of the new 2010 line ups. With a lot of changing about with drivers etc and a welcome back to a Formula 1 legend next year looks to be pretty intresting. October & November 2009

November has seen us undertake a number of assignments. We kicked off this month undertaking a campaign for a very large law company driving a client’s vehicle around various locations around the UK. Inside is a training and recruitment room enabling students see what the law is all about.

November 5th proved very busy for us as we undertook the movement of fireworks (yes we have guys with pyrotechnics qualifications) we moved everything from barriers, track ways and show equipment to some major fireworks celebrations.

A new promotion commenced this month with a fit out of two articulated vehicles for another DIY company. The fit out of the trailers includes fully operational kitchens of our client’s newest range..fully fitted means operational, sinks, dishwashers and washing machines..should be quite a spectacle. Another interesting assignment for one of our clients’ was the set up of a market scene which involved providing drivers and crew to assist our client in the erection of market stalls etc. to promote goods and produce of European countries, not your normal fruit and veg here but rather more exotic foods and produce. On the music scene we provided drivers and crew to set up two stages in the heart of central London to promote a re-branding of a leading Internet search engine, a good time was had by all. A number of our vehicle movements have been collecting set, sound and staging ready for the pantomime season (so look out behind you !) rehearsals are now taking place which will provide some kind of rest bite before we are back on the road again visiting theatres and concert halls, so if you see one of our trucks parked near the stage door come and say hello.

Talking about rehearsals we have been undertaking rehearsals ready for a car launch early next year judging by what we have seen in Germany it’s going to something special.

Children in need as always at this time of year kept us busy and the logistical problems this involves moving equipment etc. to various venues to enable this very worthwhile night to be successful.

September 2009

Needless to say our driver Eric is still driving his BIG RED RIG across Europe for one of our blue chip clients..the feedback we are receiving from them is all positive our client being really pleased with the high profile and interest this particular promotion has received.

The start of September saw our maintenance team actually getting their hands on some of our vehicles undertaking routine maintenance and servicing and giving them a once over.On the promotional side we have been undertaking a large tour with a hospitality vehicle for one of the main high street retailers calling at Preston, Sheffield, Glasgow, London, the sunny isles of the Isle of Wight  and all stops in between.

We have also undertaken a major TV commercial campaign for a leading supermarket for their Christmas range launch..you maybe able to spot a big silver exhibition trailer on the box? BBC question time is still doing the rounds never has this particular show been so popular.. we are not only supplying transport but also the crew and logistics..not only for question time on Thursday but also for the big question show on Sunday mornings so once you've read the Sunday papers and a possible breakfast in bed put your feet up and watch this ever popular show.

We are currently undertaking a long assignment for a large Swedish DIY store which has included providing crew and a show bus visiting various locations nationwide. The music roadshow doesn't stop either "a surprising busy year on this front" under the circumstances..providing 6 vehicles for a old established band "the Mac is back" the tour took us all over Europe and a brief stop in the states before returning back to the UK. it was a really late finishing season on the tribute bands after the trucks, drivers and crew must of visited nearly every main stream holiday camp during the so called summer season.

Another venture we have been involved in is for a local music school which has been taking teachers, instruments and music scores to local clubs and halls enabling children of all ages to get involved in playing instruments and encouraging them to get involved not only in undertaking instruments, but lighting, sound, and stage construction..we here at EVENTS 2 GO are more than happy to be associated with this particular worthwhile project.

Formula 1 has now parked up in the pits until next year and we know our guys are really pleased to actually get home to sleep in their own beds. Not for long though as not wishing to rest on their laurels our clients will have to gear themselves ready for any testing etc..  a very eventful season we think.. and another next year looks even more exciting.

One particular campaign currently on the road is to help people quit smoking which involves a number of our 4x4 vehicles towing 7 meter trailers around the united kingdom with one articulated outfit being the mother ship which will help and encourage people to quit smoking..this will carry on till at least Christmas (with the guys just getting home in time for the turkey) but only until the New Year when it will all be wheeled out again for all those Ney Year resolutions.

Our educational vehicles have still been visiting schools and colleagues promoting further education. We also provided two trucks with crew for a big conference in Barcelona. on site for 4 weeks so the guys managed to get a bit of beach time..OK for some with the very dismal summer we had in the UK.

EVENTS 2 GO LIMITED  are very pleased to announce that our onsite electricians have managed to gain qualification to enable us to undertake PAT testing on all our clients electrical needs and requirements...well done to all concerned.

The transport team have finally got schedules for some of this year’s Christmas pantomimes and the movement logistics that this will entail..so its going to be all hands on deck for the next couple of months

July & August 2009

Well the sun didn't shine very much in July as hoped. But needless to say we remained very busy here at Events 2 go Ltd. As the holiday season is in full swing we continue touring with a large number of tribute bands from holiday camp to holiday camp all across the UK and into main land Europe on occasions too.
Also the big boys are still out playing and the number 1 Irish band is still singing their way across Europe. The BBC are still keeping us busy with Question Time and The Big Question, amongst other assignments.

We also had a number of project launches to cover this month including our client (Spectral Gate) who required us to build a 40 foot rig with a full music suite onboard so they could take it around the UK and invite prospective students to have a play at being a knob jockey ? This particular project will run well into 2010 and beyond requiring a crew of 6 and two drivers to gain maximum exposure.

The Formula 1 season is underway and Events 2 Go Ltd are still providing drivers to our blue chip clients throughout the season and one particular client also would like the guys who are currently driving the race vehicles to swap duties at the end of September and fly out to Singapore, Japan, China, Brazil and Abu Dhabi to help out on pit crew and hospitality duties..... guess at least they will see some sunshine ?

Talking about sunshine we have drivers currently undertaking a tour across the grand old USA driving American vehicles for a band called "The Side Jerseys" this has been a mammoth project requiring the hiring of some very large rigs across the States and we are very glad to announce the tour was a complete success and the production company are now well in place to hit Europe by storm.. "glad we could have been of some assistance guys"

Our electrical contractors roadshow continues to visit the county showgrounds.

Eric is still driving the big red rig around Europe. Don't forget you can twitter him "Eric the Viking" and maybe catch a glimpse of him driving somewhere in Europe ?

All in all July was pretty busy for us all here at EVENTS 2 GO LIMITED but what's happened to the global warming we were promised?

June 2009

Well a real busy month with the weather suddenly turning into a scorching summer – hope it continues!

And life on the road continues.... the Milwakie tour continues and our driver Eric has managed to get a well earned few days at home as it enters the UK for a few shows, not for long  though the big red machine returns to mainland Europe very soon.

Question Time and the Big Question roadshow goes on from strength to strength with both shows really pulling in the viewing fiqures, guess politics has never been so interesting.

We are about halfway through a promotion on behalf of one of our major clients which includes Events 2 Go providing vehicles and  staff for a hospitality inflatable marquee our clients have had some rave  reviews about the display so far and are looking to extend the shows..take a look at the photos of rehearsals in our yard it’s a huge great structure..may be you are interested in such a structure?? Dexter the yard dog is not included, give us a call if we can help.

Events 2 Go was saddened to hear about the untimely death of Michael Jackson..but I’m sure he would agree the show must go on so the music Band wagon continues and is now gathering pace.Events 2 go have been providing drivers to their blue chip clients on a mammoth tour for THE BOSS of rock and a very big boy band? But it’s not all big stadiums, we have also been providing our splitter bus services and crew to some up and coming bands currently playing the holiday camp season which is very demanding but hey U2 had to start somewhere? Also a number of tribute  bands are getting very popular some are even more popular than the originals so we have been providing drivers for small transit type vans to artics, we have been so busy on the rock and roll front we almost run out of our event experienced drivers.

So if you’re an experienced HGV Class 1 driver who knows’ their way around Europe and don’t mind being away from home keep an eye on our vacancies section, as we may have the need to expand. From our new Birmingham office we have been providing drivers and vehicles  for a live TV comedy show you may have seen on your TV? We have also been  providing vehicles and location facilities crew to some very long film shoots mostly filming in the UK at this point but will have to go to very hot locations in Europe before our client calls it a wrap....

The formula 1 circus hit the UK this month and continues on back into Europe. Events 2 Go are still providing drivers and some double drivers flying here there and everywhere notching up the air miles etc. We think some of our drivers have spent more time sitting on wings than sitting in front of a wheel this month. Our transport department have had their pens out

arranging a very high calibre film promotion roadshow due to commence early July. Also another roadshow which involves a very large block of ice...  all will come clear just keep an eye on your local town centre.

Our drivers are also continuing with the safety roadshow campaign which has been to most if not all the county shows around the UK, and hey, because the weather has been so good not once has it got stuck in mud. Best be careful though there’s still a few more to do yet so fingers crossed all in all June was a very busy month with some very long hours and all hands on deck..and the next few months looks just as busy.

May 2009

We've just finished a mammoth European tour for the thrash metal band "dragonscreed" who finished of a headline tour with a gig at the Purple Turtle venue Camden town...events 2 go provided a band and crew bus along with drivers for this tour. F1 kicked of in Europe this month our drivers are currently out in Canada for the GP after a run from Barcelona-Monica. after Canada its all hands on deck in time for Silverstone. We're urrently undertaking a big promotion for the British Olympic team staring of on the 25th of this month and finishing of in August covering a number of venues from Ipswich to Cardiff and all points in-between.

Our Question Time vehicle and crew are still on the road with this programme now getting even more exposure along with Sundays the big question show our guys have been living out of a suitcase for a number of months now. Our driver Eric is still on the road with our client "showcase" this month he is due to hit the UK so look out for Eric and his BIG red rig as his up and down the highways and byeways. With corporate events, we are currently providing drivers to our clients for a safety council promotion/hospitality trailer which is due to visit a number of county shows. Events 2 go are proud to announce they will be providing  upto 11 drivers to their client undertaking a very large European tour kicking of next month...rehearsals are looking good and it proves to be a exciting 4 months or so.

April 2009
Another busy month with besides all the regular work we are currently supplying an experienced HGV driver  to one of our blue chip  clients who have acquired a 23 meter Artic Exhibition Trailer and an American Bullnose Tractor Unit.
Following the consultation and design phase, expansive refurbishment operations transformed the Trailer Unit, within a matter of days into a state of the art unit to house and display a full range of power tools and industrial accessories. This was a detailed project with every detail of the operation having to be taken care of. First off, the unit had to be completely stripped and gutted, externally sprayed and branded, and then fitted with new flooring, walling and display casing. We have to say the vehicle looks stunning its big and very red you certainly can’t miss it.

Eric Pennington one of our experienced driver/event operator has been appointed by our client to take the rig on its European tour. Eric who will be living in the unit for the next two years and set off from our clients yard in the early hours of 30th March and somewhere in Europe.. hope it’s going OK Eric! But just in case we want to catch up Eric will be twittering on his travels and keeping everyone up-to-date with how the tour is progressing, why not catch up with Eric and life on the road by following Eric on Twitter, just follow ERIC JOURNEY http://twitter.com/Ericshowplace.

March 2009
The start of F1 Grand Prix has seen our drivers doing some last minute testing in Barcelona.. they wish! No, our event drivers have been transporting a large number of F1 racing teams to Barcelona so the F1 drivers get some practice in ready for the new season.
And we’re still on the road with Question Time and the Big Question, and we were at the London Olympia providing drivers and riggers for a large mobile screen for a major Olympia event.
After several months of negotiation Events 2 Go will be providing hospitality transport for a section of the British Olympic team this involves a large number of logistics and man management around Europe up to the London Olympics 2012.

February 2009
A full on month with undertaking the logistics of large medical trailers which involved the man management and general up keep of these very expensive vehicles.  Then a bit of entertainment and a whistle stop tour around Europe with a couple of music tours including an ever expanding portfolio of tribute bands – who says the seventies and eighties are over!
On the road in the UK with one of favourite jobs with the BBC Question time and the Big Question with our new tractor unit and double decker trailer. Then we’ve been on the fashion trail, well our lorries have.. not much fashion sense in this office....! With plenty of activity transporting exhibitors to the Clothes Show at the Birmingham NEC

January 2009

This month we’re expanding! We have just taken ownership of extra secure storage for HGVs and trailers, the new secure park is near J11 of the M6. Full details can be found on the ‘Secure Storage’ page of our website. This compliments the existing storage facilities that we already have at our offices near J24 of the M1. Along with this, we have just taken ownership of new tractor units to manage the increases in event marketing projects and product launches. These vehicles are available to hire with drivers for UK and European event marketing and promotional trailer use

October 2008.

Back to school with a 12 truck promotion on behalf of the government education department. This event is to promote the benefits of further education to students. Our team of vehicles and drivers set up the large hospitality vehicles on the sites of numerous colleges, universities and schools. These vehicles have built in offices suites and kitchen facilities and we visited all areas of the country, North, South, East and West.

It's all go again with the BBC programme 'Question Time' back into production, with this and 'The Big Question' we're starting to get quite knowledgable about all sorts of things!

A major joinery company has asked us to undertake a UK promotional tour, to promote their latest range of bespoke kitchen fittings. Each vehicle requires a refit every 6 weeks with new styled kitchen fittings so as to keep their range right up to the minute. So for us it's a few days off, then back on tour.

We're putting together an event for a national power company, who've asked us to undertake the logistics for them. This involves making sure that the specialist vehicle arrives safely and on time at each venue, but we have also assigned the promotional crew, riggers and drivers as well as maintaining and event managing this campaign.

September 2008

With the European season now finished for another year for Formula 1, we have completed our season with a leading Formula 1 team, and what another exciting season this has been. We really enjoy this work - well who wouldn't?

A nice couple of summer tours, we've just completed driving for some major music tours as part of their UK tour - 'The show must go on' springs to mind.

We had a bit of a mammoth job to do... a major car retailer asked us if we could project manage their 40 foot hospitality trailer to promote their latest range of cars. We had a rigging crew of 12, plus drivers to operate this monster. It is big and did cause a stir with our client's dealerships. If you want to see this monster then please pop in and see us, you may find it still in situ and it can be seen for miles.

August 2008

Where is our summer? Well we have been doing our bit for last minute holiday company in merchandised ice cream vans, we've been out driving their promotion vans, handing out suntan lotion to promote that last minute get away trip - We'll all have some of that - the rain must run out soon............. please.

Our local town - Long Eaton, came to a bit of a standstill one Sunday morning, when one of our F1 clients thought it would nice to bring their race vehicles up to see us. As you can imagine this created quite a stir, with a large crowd, cameras in hand. Of course they need to get used to this, with UK racing moving to Donnington which is just a few miles from us, and rumours that a F1 grand-prix maybe coming shortly... Let's hope so!

June 2008

Lots of University travelling this month, with lots of companies looking for next year's recruits. Come and join us! See the world! Well, not quite but lots of the UK and quite a bit of Europe.

Some Recent Photos.
